Development Begins on New Lodges | Lodge Diaries Part 1

Week 1

Work has officially begun on the next phase of development at Wren Farm Retreats, with construction now underway for two new lodges. The footings have been dug, the concrete foundations poured and a coarse of blocks layed, marking the first major milestone in what will become two modern, countryside-style lodges ready for guests in early 2026.

The first stage involved clearing the area, adjusting the existing fencing to create more space, and setting out the base layout. With the groundwork complete, the next steps will include installing drainage and service lines before the structural work begins. The roof trusses have already been ordered, so once the frameworks go up, progress should move quickly.

These new lodges will follow a slightly updated design compared to our existing ones. Each will feature an integrated two-person hot tub built into the decking area, offering a more private and compact setup for guests to enjoy.

As always, there’s been plenty of curiosity around the site. The alpacas have been watching closely, clearly keen to see what’s happening on their patch. Even one of our dogs has been “supervising”, proudly standing on top of a fresh pile of soil, as if inspecting the work.
